Phil's journey in the coffee industry began in 1978 when he bought a convenience store in the Mission District and prioritized treating his customers with kindness and respect. He believed that by putting people first, success would follow. In his free time, Phil experimented with blending and brewing different coffees, striving to create the perfect cup. After 25 years of experimentation, Phil transformed his kitchen table into a coffee counter in the store, and Philz Coffee was established. From day one, Philz has been about quality, care, warmth and building connections. This is what makes Philz feel like home - it's not just about coffee, it's about the people.
