Merceda Crosby grew up living with her family in Berkeley, California. She often spent time in the kitchen watching videos of her grandparents' cooking and being a helpful part of the extended family. Instead of White Rose Cafe in Oakland, her grandmothers owned a cafe and they sold their gifts there. Cooking is in her grandmother's blood!
Merceda is a Berkeley native; she attended all Berkeley schools and went to Berkeley Bowl for 12 years. This is where her passion for and interest in food developed; she was introduced to many different ingredients and cuisines. She subsequently became a private chef for culinary establishments and learned to cook at Laney in 2018. Repeating this task in 2019, she opened a new restaurant called Cafe Nine.
A great place for a drink and sandwich. Cafe 9ine is highly recommended to for a tasty sandwich and iced coffee.
