Alfred Peet launchedthe first worldwide coffeehouse widely endorsed by the public in Berkeley, CA, on April 1, 1966, approximately two weeks after he began working for B. Koorn & Company, his father's coffee and tea wholesale company in Alkmaar. He returns to college to find foreign suppliers of coffee and tea. He's still making by hand and tinkering with machines.
I prefer this location to the vast majority. The place's staff is friendly, set in a beautiful environment, and it contains lots of fun activities.
